Nehalem Bay Fire and Rescue
Voters approved the formation of the Nehalem Bay Fire and Rescue District at the November, 2008 election. The new District will serve Manzanita, Nehalem, Wheeler, Neahkahnie and the surrounding unincorporated areas. The new District assumed responsibility for emergency response on July 1, 2009. Questions on burning permits should be directed to the District.
The Nehalem Bay Fire and Rescue District is governed by a five member Board whose members are:

Bob Forster, Secretary
Jack Allen, Treasurer
Walt Covert
Perry Sherbaugh is the Fire Chief.
